Question by Jessica G: How can I get over anxiety attacks so I can give a presentation subsequent week?
I have severe anxiety and I’ve been getting anxiousness attacks for months. I cannot take prescription pills due to the fact I’m an air traffic controller and I’ve been attempting herbs (valerian, ignatia, passion flower) but absolutely nothing seems to work. And I Constantly have anxiousness attacks when I have to speak to a group and subsequent week and have to give a brief presentation to every person in my operate and I’m petrified of having an anxiousness attack. Please support me.

In the long term, consider joining a Toastmasters group. They’ll help you with speaking in front of groups of people.
When you give a speech, don’t see it as a group of people. You’re just talking to one person at a time. Try and maintain eye contact with just one person for 3-4 seconds then move to the next person, that way you’re just concentrating on one person.
Meet as many people who you’ll be speaking to before you give your presentation. That way you’ll be talking to people you know, rather than a nameless face.
Finally, before you speak, take a deep breath. As we say in Toastmasters, everyone gets butterflies before they speak, it’s just a matter of getting them to fly in formation.
Good luck with your presentation.

If you wear glasses take them off and you won’t see anybody (My friends experience). Me I really don’t like giving presentations but, before i do sometimes i listen to my favorite music to get me going. Take a really deep breath and show them what your made of ! You know what! Eat alot of sweets that will probably help Get you going. And by the way that medication is probably what’s causing your anxiety more. You know their is always a side affect

In my research for understanding natural treatments for anxiety, anxiety attacks and panic attacks, one of the major underpinnings for self understanding and gaining control of the anxiety response is that, a lot of it has to do with “the fear of the fear” and “fear of losing control”. bottom line is that he worst fear a person has is the fear of getting another anxiety or panic attack and that triggers the body flight or fight response and what you end up with is this”loop” of behavior. understanding this and accepting this is the first step in getting control back. the panicaway program may be something that you would find useful.
