There are a lot of individuals who use self-talk to deal with what is going on inside their minds. When self-talk is not monitored cautiously it can lead to drastic effects not only on one’s personality but also affects its mentality and psychology. Self-speak is a sort of conversation which we conduct with ourselves. In literature we call it soliloquy. Brain’s reticular activating system by no means forgets what we repeat again and again. Ironically this system can not recognize what is useful to the individual and what is not. Believe you can, believe you cannot either way, you will be appropriate- a saying goes like this. For that reason when ever we ‘talk’ with ourselves, we should be cautious, quite cautious in fact. There are a lot of audio programs which can help and there are a lot of on-line books. If I recall there is a book ‘self-talk solutions’ which is each successful in this scenario.

those are worries mostly due to all the things that are happening to you, the medication will help you to feel less worried all the time but the talking will deal with the issue, you;ve just got to put ur head up and say this is me and i am tryin to recover, you are who you are. what i also find helps is to think and be like a child, they dont worry about who thinks they look silly or what they are goin to have to deal with next, they laugh at silly things and play games al the time, try once in a while to be like a child and think les about ur worries, it really works and obviously if you have responsibilities you cant always be completly worry free, but give it ago when your on your own and worrying.

If what you are doing now is not helping deal with your existing anxiety you may want to consider meds. Try exercise and diet first. I had anxiety for years and did not want to take meds either. Unfortunately the anxiety turned into panic attacks, and trust me that’s something you don’t want to deal with.

I have suffered with anxiety for along time. I’m twenty now and still have problems with it. The only thing that really really really helped was being on a low doseage of Paxil CR 20mg. I recently stopped taking it about a year ago because of some other medication but it did help alot. Made me more out going and awake. I would go to the healthfood store if you really dont want medication and see what they say.

It is possible. The medications prescribed usually have more positives than negitive side effects. As in the positive outways the negitive. I have very bad anxiety. When I take a pill for this it is only as needed basis. The anxiety is what makes me not feel like myself. The pill taken makes me feel totally better and level headed and calm to where i can function tons better and I am myself….Please consider this. Hope ur feeling better soon!

Sounds like you have a lot going on right now. Maybe you could give youself some time to adjust to the recent changes. Seeing a therapist is good and sometimes medication can help you get back on track. If you should have side effects then the medication can be adjusted or you can be put on a different one. You may want to try other things to keep yourself from dwelling on the problems, such as making sure you get enough exercise, doing some volunteer work or joining some sort of club and keeping up with friends, like making a lunch date or going to a movie.

Hi hun , i really feel for you, it sounds like you have been under loads of stress it must be horrible for you i sort of know how you feel i started to feel really anxious and not myself it is really hard to explain, my doctor suggested i try some medication but i was terrified but in the end i agreed as long as it wasn’t strong medication that would make me spaced out, it seemed to help.I just think maybe you should carry on what your doing and you will be fine. I hope you feel better soon x

You might try to work out a wellness plan with someone. This is where you write down some of the signs you have when your feeling bad. and then you write down what you can do to feel better. And this would be a plan you could follow everyday to keep from being so anxious. Talk this over with your provider to see what they think.
