Talk to your medical doctor about it. I am confident that it would help and relax you but you need to discuss this with your physician to make confident he agrees and finds a mild one that will not put you to sleep in the middle of a song.

I have severe test anxiety and am also a competitive golfer. Before each golf tournament (or before mid-terms or finals), I had so much anxiety would become light-headed and couldn’t eat. My doctor gave me a prescription for a beta blocker. It’s a drug normally used for people with high blood pressure but it’s also helpful in reducing the physical manifestations of panic and anxiety. I was leery of taking it since my blood pressure is fine but I did research and found it’s not uncommon.

You might especially find this website helpful as it talks about the use of beta blockers in musicians.
